Global Taekwondo International

We have pleasure in inviting you and your students to our next competition, the GTI National Open on Sunday 30th June 2013 at Cheltenham Leisure Centre, Tommy Taylor’s Lane, Cheltenham GL50 4RN


Due to a much increased attendance at recent events getting the competitions to finish on time has been a major task, with a few categories even being cancelled at the last event in order to meet the deadline. To avoid a repetition of this the blue and red belt entrants will now only have continuous sparring and patterns available to compete in, with no point-stop. Only the black belt divisions will have the option of both types of sparring. As always we need your support and the support of your students who are officials to ensure the day runs to schedule so please encourage them to attend.

Competition Categories

• Yellow & Green belts: Patterns & Point-Stop sparring.
  
• Blue & Red belts: Patterns & Continuous sparring.
  
• Black belts: Patterns, Point-Stop & Continuous sparring.
  
• Veterans: 40 years and over Continuous sparring for Blue, Red, & Black belt divisions.
  
• Super Veterans for those Veterans who also wish to compete in the main event.

Officials
Please register both trainee and qualified officials on the block entry form. If officiating for the day, trainee umpires who also compete get a discount entry fee of £10 and it is free to compete for those who are qualified. Officials should sign in by 9.30am and be present for a quick pre-comp meeting at 9.45am.

Entry Forms
The entry forms have been amended to try to reduce the amount of errors that occur with entrants being placed in incorrect weight divisions, as well as showing that point-stop is no longer an option for the blue & red divisions.

Facilities
Cheltenham Leisure Centre has a large eight-court sports hall with spectator seating gallery, cafeteria, swimming pools and free parking.

Competition Categories
Point-stop and continuous* sparring categories, patterns, board breaking, and jumping high kick competition. A reminder also that there will be a 40 years and over veterans section available in continuous sparring for the blue/red, and black belt divisions. (*NB. Continuous sparring & board breaking available to adult blue, red, & black belt divisions only).

Officials
Please register on the block entry form. Officials should sign in by 9.30am and be present for a quick pre-comp meeting at 9.45am.
